Will blue manic panic color the dark parts of my hair if i try my best to keep it only on the blonde chunks?
i box colored my hair soft black a day before going to get parts of it bleached out and colored blue. my hairdresser told me about manic panic to keep up the blue in an inexpensive way, but she didn’t give me any details on how to apply it. so i was wondering if i just slather it on the blueish streaks if it will have any effect on my blackish hair that it will touch. advice? thanks.
okay. thanks for all of your advice. one more thing, how would you all suggest me do this? just with gloves, ofcourse and cover what i want done then let it just fall on the rest of my hair until it’s done?

it all depends on "HOW" black it is…or better yet, "HOW" black it turned out. You don’t have to be precise and pick out every single bleached hair…it’ll be ok if you pick all the blonde and yet grab a few black hairs…..just dye it….anyways…. usually it’ll wash out of the darker parts before the blonde….good luck, you shouldn’t have much trouble…just make sure you concentrate on the blonde, and use the manic panic on that part…. have fun….you really cant go wrong…manic panic washes out really quick.
First, you dont want to "slather it on". It is very messy and you will want to use extreme care when applying this product. And I mean extreme! (Wear latex gloves) and becareful not to drip onto the floor or the counter. Now to answer your question: You cannot lighten color with color, so since the blue is lighter than your black, the blue you apply shouldnt turn your black blue. (If your hair is brown, however, I would not suggest trying this method). Good luck!!
Ok so from experiance…I have brown hair and I wanted some hot pink in it. I tried a little and nothing, then i COVERED my head in it and nothing. I would say that its safe to just put it on. And if anything, itll eventually come out.
I agree just slather it on, mushing it through your hair. It will stick to the highlights and do nothing to the black part of your hair except condition it, which is good. Wear a black t-shirt and use gloves. Leave it in for a good hour. After you rinse it out towel dry it with a dark towel because it will leave a stain.
