Cognitive-behavioural therapy can be very useful for dealing with anxiety. You could also check out a book called "Hope and help for your nerves" by Claire Weekes, which gets rave reviews on amazon.
My psychologist gave me deep breathing exercises to do but I dont think its for me. because it does not work.
Your options consist of:
Therapy
Beta blockers (for physical symptoms only, worrying remains but shaking and sweating wont)
Antidepressants (more for mental worries) – usually SSRI’s such as Seroxat, Zoloft, or Prozac.
Benzodiazepines – very calming and soothing but also a bit harder to stop taking them and they work on most symptoms. These include Xanax and Valium and tend to be reserved for extremely life-paralysing anxiety.
