I have been having anxiety and panic attacks, and feel that i need to get on medication. Would I see a general physician or a therapist? any help you could provide would be great. i am currently seeing a counselor at school, but they cant provide prescriptions. Please help.

Your GP can provide you with medication for these problems. If you get to the point your GP thinks you need to see a professional he can refer you to one. I have anxiety and my GP takes care of me with medication but I also see a psychologist weekly.
Your GP can help you with that. Therapists can’t prescribe meds.
Talk to a physician first, then he will reccomend you to someone if he feels you need that. Go quick though, the longer you wait the more severe you get.
Go see your primary doctor, he/ she can prescribe something.
Mine prescribed Lorazepam (Adivan ) .05mg one or two as needed.
Works great.
you can go to your regular doctor that you go to for anything.
I went to this acupuncture place and they gave me some tea and herb pills which did help a bit, so maybe you should go. I still get anxiety attacks once in a while, but not as much as i used to.
then i went to my pediatrician, and she said that going to acupuncture was fine, but if i kept freaking out and still having them to go to a psychiatrist.
psychiatrist. they ask you your symptoms and prescribe accordingly.
see a psychologist or psychiatrist, one of my best friends had this same problem and now he’s definitely getting better, but go see your pediatirician (idk how to spell it) or doctor and they can help you get medication and a psycologist
Psychologist will diagnose you and a Psychiatrist will give you medication. It is advised to see both since medication should never be looked at as a cure, but rather a buffer to help you cope while in therapy.
start by seeing a doctor… he might refer u to a psychiatrist. keep with the counsellor though…
You can get them from your GP, but I feel that psychiatrists have more hands down experience to know which prescription would work for you and if you really need to go that route right now. I have been on antidepressants for 5 years. I’ve literally become a zombie. I feel like I am in a snow globe looking out. So I have decided to go on my own, and leave the prescription behind, but to have some on hand incase it gets bad. By the way I go and have gone to get my prescriptions from my GP, I am not ready for a psychiatrist yet, even though he refered me to one. Good luck.
