What is the best benzodiazepine for anxiety?

I’m prescribed Halcion for insomnia & am wondering if I can keep getting the Halcion and get a benzodiazepine for anxiety.

Halcion is a benzodiazepine. Two common drugs for anxiety are Xanax and Klonopin which are also both benzodiazepines. Talk to your doctor—you probably can substitute one of those as your anxiety could be causing your sleep problems. All three of these drugs can become addictive if overused. Try to find the cause of your anxiety so you won’t need to take them for long.
I use Klonopin for anxiety episodes. Takes a long time to work though depending on how worked up you are.
This stuff is really, really individual. It’s kind of a guess and check game you have to play with your doctor. There’s no way for us to tell you which will be best for you.
As far as bezos and Halcion:
"Both pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic interactions have been reported with benzodiazepines. In particular, triazolam produces additive CNS depressant effects when coadministered with other psychotropic medications, anticonvulsants, antihistamines, ethanol, and other drugs which themselves produce CNS depression."
Just thought I would slip in and mention there are some natural remedies/medications that you can take for anxiety. Where I work many people get tested for hormone and other imbalances and it has allowed them to come off Benzos and actually FIX the problem/issue.
Let me say Benzo’s are one of the most wicked to come off of and the withdrawals are HORRIBLE – I see it daily.
I realize you are trying to solve a problem, and do care…and will do what is best for you. However I must mention some FACTS about Benzo’s in CASE you don’t know.
!. The national institute of mental health says that these drugs DO NOT CURE mental illness.
2. The drug labels ADMIT that the manufacturers DO NOT KNOW how the drugs work.
3. There is NO MEDICAL TEST to determine if you actually need the drug.
4. These drugs can create dependence and cause serious and uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms.
SOME SIDE EFFECTS:
Blurred Vision – Changes in Libido-Changes in Salivation – Confusion – Constipation – Depression – Double Vistion – Drowsiness – Fatigue – Hallucinations – Headache – Insomnia- Low Blood Pressure – Nausea – Slurred Speech – Tremor AND POINTING THIS ONE OUT ANXIETY <–
it is ONE Of the many side effects.
So, again…I am not try to lecture, only trying to save you money, and any possible harm/damage of taking BENZOS.
In final…there are Alternative doctors and Natural doctors (you can find them on line) in your area, you might want to see if you can find a natural way first and maybe actually fix whatever is causing it
