I was diagnosed a little over 3 months ago when i began going to therapy. I had my first attack in September of 2008. I’m just so tired of this whole ordeal.

see a psychiatrist who can prescribe medicine, they will likely give you clonopin and/or lexapro….lexapro is long term and has been working for me, clonopin is to calm an immediate attack
I personally know how it feels, I suffered with panic attacks for about 8 years, and finally I overcame them. I went to multiple counselors and read many books, but finally one book made it clear for me. Since then I’ve been recommending it to everyone that has this problem. The simple fact that I found out is that therapy is a great tool for helping, but the true cure lies within yourself and taking steps to overcome your disorder. You started it (subconsciously) and you can also end it. check it out at

I just read about this today…
Just keep telling yourself that you can make it through the panic attack.
Anxiety is normal.
It’s better to have too much anxiety than not enough.
These feelings are uncomfortable, but not dangerous.
I don’t have to make these sensations stop, my body will do that on it’s own.
This is temporary.
I’m not having a heart attack, or stroke.
My heart is designed to beat this fast and faster.
I’m not going to lose control, or go crazy.
Having unpleasant sensations doesn’t mean that I’m going to lose control.
I can be anxious and still function.
Other people can’t see what I’m feeling.
It’s not that I don’t have enough air, I’m actually over-breathing and there’s plenty of air.
