Anxiety/Depression..?
I want to go to the doctors to get something for anxiety/depression, but I absolutely refuse to talk anything out. Will doctors prescribe something without me having to talk to a therapist/psychiatrist/psychologist.
Natural treatment for anxiety symptoms and panic attacks.

I want to try B12 shots but I’m afraid to go to a regular psychiatrist office because they might not know anything about autism/aspergers and they typically only know how to write prescriptions for xanax and antidepressants.
False. It can have a profound effect in some people.
I’m really more interested in being an actual psychiatrist, but I can work up to that, I’m sure. However, If I join the military with the intention of being a psychiatric technician, do I need a degree before joining?
I’m asking because I can’t afford schooling for ANY career without putting myself in a giant whole of debt. Would the military provide training for a job as a Psychiatric technician? While on that paycheck, I can study to become an actual psychiatrist, or whatever else I want to, ya know?
How long, or how many sessions, did it take your psychiatrist to diagnose you with anxiety?
Did your psychiatrist quickly start you on medicine?
The reason im asking is that i go back to school at the end of august. i recently found a new psychiatrist after not going to one for 2 years. The new psychiatrist now has to diagnose me himself (the previous psychiatrist had diagnosed me with General Anxiety Disorder G.A.D., social anxiety, and panic attacks). The problem is, the new psychiatrist only has appointments on Wednesdays which means i will only be able to see him for a total of 6 sessions before i go back to school. Is 6 sessions enough time to get a diagnoses and begin medicine treatement?
thanks for your input
I want to be a psychiatrist, or psychologist, but I want to know which is better, as well as the college that offers the best psychiatric courses.. could someone please help me find the best colleges for this major? thank you very much!

but I REALLY want to help people, for for their sake, I’ll try.. who knows, I can probably finish early bu=y taking college prep in my hs, as well as summer courses… that should take of 2-4 years I hope…
I am hearing from many people that the Psych is going prescribe something. This is my first visit for suicidal thoughts and depression. However, medications are out of the question. My therapist doesn’t force me to do anything which I appreciate. Are Psychiatrist just as open?
I am trying to find a new psychiatrist but after so many bad experiences I don’t trust them and I feel like picking a psychiatrist is just going to be like throwing a dart at a board and I don’t know who I’m going to get. How should I go about finding one and what if they’re bad? I don’t have insurance or a ton of money to keep trying different ones if they’re not a good fit. Any suggestions for pre-screening them?
I have chronic generalized anxiety & also social anxiety, sometimes panic attacks. I’m constantly tense, in a blank frame of mind & disconnected from my feelings/emotions. I’ve even been diagnosed as schizophrenic since I suffer from some of the symptoms of it.
I’m already seeing a therapist & I’m under the care of psychiatrist and the progress is really, really slow. I’m wondering if there’s any way I can speed up my recovery. Any tips are appreciated!
Thanks
I would like to have some, how do I ask my psychiatrist for this?
How "severe" must I be to get a prescription?
I’ve decided I will not take any drugs to battle what is going on with me, so how would a Psychiatrist approach my problem? Isn’t that the first thing they do, medicate you? I don’t want to go and have to delve into my childhood. What can I expect to happen through therapy?
Today all I did was sign up the initial forms and my anxiety already overwhelmed me and nearly freaked out. I can’t let that happen of course when I start working. I see the psychiatrist Tuesday morning, I have orientation for work Tuesday night. However I can’t start my medicine until Thursday because I am on a sliding scale with the office as i have not had income or insurance and they will give me free medicine. How can I keep it together long enough to keep my job while waiting to get my medicine?
im being serious. i have struggled with this for almost 5 years and im only 14 and i cant take any more of this. ive been to the psychiatrist and nothing changed. right now im taking zoloft and havent seen any changes. so how did you recover from your anxiety and panic disorder?
thank you so much!
What kind of doctor should I visit if I think I have an anxiety disorder? I’ve done research online of anxiety symptoms and even taken a test to determine whether or not (not professionally of course) I may or may not have anxiety. I have many symptoms and the test said I may have an unhealthy amount of anxiety. Now, I want to take the next step. Who do I visit to help me with this disorder/ possibly get me medication? A psychiatrist?
