what disorders can be mixed up for panic attacks?

Im almost sure i have Post trumatic stress disorder. this past year ive been having trouble breathing and "spells" resembling panic attacks…I was wondering what other diseases or causes could have the same effect of a panic attack..but isnt actually a panic attack?

I have not been diagnosed with a thyroid problem. I went to the doctor on 2-3-2011 for anxiety, panic attacks, not sleeping, loosing a lot of weight, tired, not eating, no appetite, body numbness, and purple colored fingernails, etc etc. My doctor prescribed me Prozac and Xanax for the anxiety and panic attacks. She said that she is concerned that this all might just have something to do with my thyroid so they drew three viles of blood from me for testing. Now my question is. If this is my Thyroid and we start treatment for my thyroid and when it starts to get to the normal levels that it is supposed to be will the panic attacks and anxiety go away? I have only been having these symptoms for almost a year.
I have not been diagnosed with a Thyroid problem and the blood work has not came back yet its only been a few days. I’m just wondering on a what if bases. I have been taking the Prozac and Xanax since 2-3-2011 at night. I do feel a little better already, I had a little panic attack this morning but I took half a Xanax and was back to normal in thirty minutes. The results could come back normal and I could just have an anxiety and panic disorder. I’m currently taking 10mg Prozac that I am supposed to move up to 20mg tonight. We will see what the future holds.
Yeah they where very severe. I haven’t even went outside for a week in a half up until I went to the doctor. They ran a EKG on me checked my heart and my oxygen. They checked my lungs and stomach etc etc everything came back perfect. My doctor is an actual sufferer of panic attacks and anxiety also which makes me feel good. She has been treating my family for years.

I personally believe I could have a panic attack even if they had me on morphine.

How can I calm down during a panic attack?

Last night I got one so bad that I was tempted to drive to the hospital. My heart beating so fast without physical activity just feels so abnormal and scary. It’s hard to remember during a panic attack that it can’t hurt you. But everytime I get one I feel like I’m gonna die… :( also I’m 22 and I’m pretty healthy.

Like is it a definite fact that when you are having a panic attack, your heart will always beat abnormally fast?? Or can you have a panic attack and not have so much of a racing heart beat?

My friend wants me to go bowling with her and a group of friends tomorow. I feel like that would be really fun, on one hand, but I know if i have a panic attack or am really stressed out while I"m there, than it will make my anxiety worse in the long run. Any advice on whether or not I should go??

Good ways to calm down during panic attack?

Ya, I’m having a bit of a panic attack and I’d greatly appreciate some help on how to at least calm down. Any simple ways you all use or can think of? Don’t say therapy. Please and thanks for answering!
Anything other than deep breathing?

What would they do? I heard that if it’s really bad they give u calming medicine in an IV, but what if you’re pregnant? What do they do in general when someone comes to the ER with a severe panic attack?

I have really bad anger issues and social anxiety, and depression problems. I used to be on meds but I’m not anymore, and the symptoms are back. Im 20 and I cant be depending on my mom for rides. How can I take a bus or train without having a panic attack? People think I’m lazy because I only want rides, it angers me because that is not the case at all. Please help.

I have a severe fear of Balloons, and after I have a panic attack, I get irritable and I feel exhausted. Is this normal?

Cause I’ve been told to do this, but when I do my heart still beats fast. Does it really slow down your heart rate? And if this works so good, how come the first time I ever got a panic attack and called the ambulance they didnt do this? they should carry brown paper bags with them all the time if thats the case lol……

Or bipolar disorder, I suppose, type 1 or 2.
Also, I’m a little fuzzy at what point someone would be having a panic attack vs. very stressed out or "freaking out."
