how to i prevent panic attacks while sleeping?




I generally have problems with anxiety.

Right now, I am going through a rough time in my life and last night I woke up in the middle of the night in complete panic. It wasnt a full blown panic attack but it almost was.

Now i’m scared of going to sleep.

(Years ago I’ve woken up in a panic attack as well. )

Anyone have any suggestions?

Are they born with it? If not, when does it usually develop?
Can you be 16 and get a panic attack and all of sudden suffer from panic/anxiety disorder? is it possible?

Can smoking cannabis induce panic attacks?




I know that a person can a have a panic attack at the moment they smoke it… but can it actually create a permanent disorder even though they’re not consuming it anymore?

I am unable to remove myself from a situation that will probably cause me to have a panic attack, and I can’t take any drugs because my parents do not know that I get panic attacks.

I am not sure but:
When i have an anxiety attack i start trembling
When I have a panic attack i feel like i am going to die.

Is there any difference or are they both the same?

Sometimes if I’m inside and I’m having a panic attack, I’ll go outside and all the sudden the panic attack will just disappear. I figured this out because one time I was at my cousin’s house and I was having an anxiety attack and things got pretty insane and she told me to go outside because she thought I was going to throw up. But I the minute I walked out the door it was like a weight off my shoulders. Why is this?

I’ve had anxiety for as long as I can remember. I used to have anxiety attacks as a juvenile, with a " lump in the throat and I’m going to swallow it and choke to death " feeling and my hands would get sweaty and I would lie awake in bed, scared to death from days, sometimes even weeks on in. I’m 25 now and I’ve recently been having them but they’re not too bad, however, today I was at work and encountered the worst anxiety attack I’ve ever had in my entire life. I was having a good day, nothing going wrong then all of sudden I left my office and my chest began to tighten. I started panicing and my heart rate increased drasticly and I began to shake uncontrolabley. I started thinking I was going to sufficate to death. It felt like I had someone sitting on my chest and I couldn’t expand it enough to get a full breath. I sat down and it began to slow down. An hour later, I thought it was over and I began to drive home from work. I was talking to a girlfriend on the phone and I literally hung up on her in mid conversation because it started again. I pulled over to the side of the road from the highway and started flipping out again. My chest tightened, I was having trouble breathing, I started to shake and and I felt really light headed. It honestly scared me. I’m afraid to go to sleep now. I’ve never expirineced a panic attack this bad before. Is this normal? a friend told me, some panic attacks are worse then others. I feel like I’m losing my mind.

I think I had a panic attack (not 100%) all symptoms point to that anyways! Should I go to the doctor to get them to check it out?

I am close to having a panic attack. I can’t stop thinking, or sleep for that matter. I just want to be able to have some peace before I sleep but nothing is providing it. Would it be bad to drink? What could be the consequences?

The medication I take for my anxiety is called Buspirone.

I’ve been really anxious lately and just had a bit of a panic attack.
During that time, my chest, back, and stomach all felt cold. And my feet were freezing.

Does anybody else get this symptom/sensation? Do you know why it happens?

Im getting my wisdom teeth out in 2 weeks (2 which r in the bone) and they will be using IV sedation. I suffer from panic attack, I even have them now from just thinking about it. Im mainly worried of having a panic attack right in the middle of the procedure and not being able to do anything since Im under sedation.

I had my first panic attack about 5 months ago & it came out of no where. I thought I was having a heart attack. Luckily, after about 5 hours, my family was able to calm me down. I then started to have panic/anxiety attacks about once a month, then twice a week, and now it’s a few times a week. My doctor put me on .5mg of xanax, only to be taken when I have an anxiety attack. I took my first pill last night and it made me sleepy but feel a lot more calm. I get nervous going to restaurants, parties, big events, etc. I don’t get nervous unless I work myself up about it. If I have a big event coming up, I can’t stop thinking about it, which will eventually make me panic! I know that I’m bringing this on myself, I just can’t make myself relax or stop thinking about it. It’s constantly on my mind. I’m 22, very healthy, work out regularly, and have NEVER been shy or had anxiety in my life. Now, I can’t stop the anxiety and I can’t stop thinking about it. PLEASE HELP!

I was sleeping and I remember waking up and I felt really anxious and my breathing was really weird (I’ve had a panic attack once before when I was little and it felt like that but I felt really anxious and kept moving around). Is it possible that it was a panic attack or an anxiety attack? (Is a panic attack and an anxiety attack two different things or the same?)
