I know someone who is currently in the air force and has been taking anti anxiety medication for a year as prescribed to him by a civilian practitioner. He is wondering if being on said medication would be grounds for discharge. Thanks for your help.

how many of you have been put on anxiety medication for a short period of time…then were taken OFF the medication at some point and are now medication AND anxiety free?
what was your original diagnosis…what kind of medication were you put on and how long were you on the medicine? any complications coming off the meds?

I have cancer and when I asked my oncologist for anti-anxiety medication he said he would give me enough for one month but that I need to find another Dr. to prescribe them after that. I have had anxiety and panic attacks for years, and now after being diagnosed with cancer it’s gotten worse. I take prozac but it only helps my depression. Thanks in advance for answering!

i used to take it a couple years ago, and i have no idea what it was called, when i went to a doctor and told them it was the only NON-narcotic anxiety medication that began with a V they knew what it was (not taken daily, only when anxiety attacks occur, or for trouble sleeping). i want to recommend it to my sister, and i dont know the name. Thanks
it was in the form of a capsule, I dont think it was valerian root.

Theres psychotherapist, psychologist, therapist….Whats the difference between them? I need to find a therapist that can prescribe me anti anxiety medication. Do most therapists have the license to do this?

21 year old male. Thought something was wrong with my heart after cocaine use..went to the cardiologist…everything was fine. He did an echocardiogram and everything.
But…now I am still left with anxiety that I cant shake off. This has been going on for 1 month now. The anxiety is not as bad as it used to be…but its still there..lingering in the background. I have periods of time where I just feel anxious. can my cardiologist prescribe anxiety medication or should I go to a psychiatrist?

I am hoping to expand my family, I have one child and would love to have a couple more. The problem is that I have been taking Paxil Cr and Klonopin to treat my anxiety (I’m not talking stress, I have a diagnosed anxiety disorder) Is there any one out there who has taken any kind of anxiety medication during pregnancy or know of anxiety medication that is considered safe during pregnancy. I went off the paxil and klonopin when I was pregnant with my son and it was unable to function. I have a 3 year old at this point and I have to be stable for him so not treating my anxiety really isn’t an option. I see a therapist, but I only fully feel good when I am on anti-anxiety medication. Thanks in advance for any responses

I may be put on either depression or anxiety medication this summer / fall. I’m thirteen years old and just starting puberty. Will it affect my menstrual cycles, breast growth, height, weight, body hair, skin, etc? I’m just worried. Thanks

I just took the anti anxiety medication Lorazepam for the first time after it was prescribed to be earlier this week. I started suffering a bad panic attack about 10 min ago and took the 1.0mg of the medication right away. Does anyone know how long it takes for this stuff to kick in? My doc told me I’m going to want to double the dose if I get desperate, but not to so I wont, but I just want it to hurry up and work!

I’ve been on anxiety medication for a few months now and my doctor is insisting I try to get off of it at least until I go back to school in the fall. She wants to see how I do without it. I still have panic attacks even with my medication and I’m without counseling at the moment. I’m pretty concerned about what getting off of it will do to me. Has anyone experienced this personally or does anyone know of any side effects that occur when a person gets off of this medication?

I’m driving into Canada in June.
Will I have to declare medication? If so, will the fact that I have anti-anxiety medication with me, freak out the Canadian officials and make them think I’m unhealthy and not let me in?
I actually don’t take the meds anymore, just gonna bring them with me just in case.
