Should I bother making an appointment for Hypnotic treatments for anxiety?

I have terrible anxiety and it is effecting my performance at work. I have been fired from almost every job… although quite often that was from girls lying about me. Anyway, I made an appointment to see a hypnotist to calm my nerves. Unfortunately I need a referral from my doctor and that it will take 8 sessions, once a week. That means it will take eight weeks before I am done. I can’t wait that long… although what else can I do? Medication just doesn’t work for me.

Sorry to hear that you have this problem as my wife suffers from the same thing and it has gotten worse as she has gotten older. The drugs work on her but then she says she then feels like a "zombie" or a really spaced out Hippie. It must be the other medications she is taking, I don’t know. But this is not about her it is about you.
If there is a glitter of hope in this technique, you must take the it. It is far better than using drugs to control this disease.
When I can put the money together, I intend to try another method called Reiki healing.

There are no instant cures. There are many different medications. Alternatively, consider reviewing successive approximations. Google it. Self training, may help. You also need to think of in terms of one day at a time, or even one hour at a time, do not make it harder on yourself by thinking in the aggregate.
If medication does not help have you tried to find the cause of your anxiety? I have anxiety when I have people coming to my house for a dinner or Christmas. I finally got old enough to stop it. Now I go to the grand children’s house. If you cannot change what it making you anxious, then you may have to learn something every week until you get the whole eight weeks done. I hope you overcome your anxiety. It can be quite debilitating.
In my humble opinion, no. I personally have exactly zero faith in hypnotism. ( I can’t be hypnotized). But if you went to a Counselor, or a psychologist, it would take about the same time. It sounds like the social situation has got you wound up pretty tight. In that case, you probably won’t relax until you break down those situations and analyze them a bit. You need a good strategy for those situations as well as some relaxation. Find out what exactly is at the root of the anxiety, and then create a strategy to counter it. The more you are able to take some positive action about the source of the anxiety, the more the anxiety will weaken.

Definitely do it, it works, BELIEVE it! And it could very well work in the 1st session…don’t think you have to wait for the 8th. Do you WANT it to work faster? Then it likely will.
And aerobic excercise is very effective vs anxiety & depression.
Start w/ a vigorous walk of even 10 min, preferrably 20.
Then work upto 30. 45 or longer if you feel like more later when you can handle it. .
I have it too. Have you tried klonopin it really does work. Other than that deep breathing is the only other thing that seems to help. i stopped the pills and i still get anxiety out of no where and im in a horrible panic. it sucks. i doubt hypnosis will help. it doesnt help with quiting smoking.
Plenty of that nasty little aliment going around, sometimes you just need a caring friend?
Hypnotizing is weird to me and you may want to bring someone with you to make sure no mind altering back door is put in. It is a bad idea. Hypnosis opens your mind up to demons. You should never do that. Have you no meds to take for anxiety?
I get anxiety every so often and have to take something. I hate doing it but sometimes it is warranted.
I never had it when I was younger. But I am believing God to free me of it.
I suggest you find a prayer cleansing team that can pray over you and get those spirits off of you.
Because Christians should not open themselves up to more demons.
