sounds like a classic anxiety disorder. you can be prescribed medication for it such as Klonopin, but its extremely addictive. you should try to push through this without medication first, but if that doesnt work then you may need to resort to it. either way start talking to a therapist of some kind, they will have techniques to offer you.
stay away from caffeine, this can trigger a panic attack because it increases your heart rate. panic attacks (at least for me) are sometimes triggered by a negative thought pattern. try to be confident in whatever you do. try to change your overall outlooks a bit like a "i dont care what anyone thinks" outlook and youll feel more relaxed.
when you are having a panic attack, take long deep breaths to control your breathing. some people like to fill up a brown paper bag but all you really need to do is count to 7 or so (maybe 8 or 10 depending on your lung capacity) while breathing in and out. Think of something happy or relaxing and try drinking something, that always makes me feel better.
hope this helpes, do some research on the web ("panic attacks" & "anxiety") and talk to a doctor or therapist, dont worry you can get over this more easily than you think :]
I get panic attacks too, and what seems to calm me down is having a cold drink of water. For some reason I have no idea why, but it works for me.
You can try to go to your doctor to prescribe you pills. Or litle by little every day you can teach yourself to not get overwhelmed
