I have worked with many people with Asperger’s Syndrome, Depression (AKA Bipolar), Schizophrenia, and other disorders as well.
In my experience, I would do whatever I could to prevent someone from having a panic attack such as changing your thoughts, environment, etc. (only if possible).
As a matter of fact, I have a very good friend that is sort of in the same situation as you are. I really didn’t know how serious panic attacks/anxiety were until I met and became friends with her.

Since I am not very familiar with Asperger’s Syndrome, I don’t know what role that plays in your anxiety attacks. But I have a website called Anxietycompass.com that may be able to help you. It is free and full of information that hopefully you will gain some benefit from. good luck.
I would advise that you give serious consideration in going to a psychologist regularly. Try to distract yourself from your thoughts; watch a movie, go out with friends, etc.

Nightmares can be caused by food allergies, it’s called a brain sensitivity or brain allergy. Try going to an allergist to see if you can get some relief. If you have changed your meds or dosages recently and the nightmares coincide, then that may be the problem. Meanwhile there are some simple things you can do for yourself that will make you feel better. Get out in the sun every day at least 15 minutes a day and exercise at least that long as well – think of a brisk walk. Plus you make Vitamin D when you are exposed to sunlight, may be one less med to take. Eat healthy foods and eat a small meal every few hours to keep your blood sugar level all day and night. Avoid caffeine, sugary foods, dyes, aspartame, soda. Take a good multivitamin every day, B-100 complex, and Ester C- at least 2,000 mgs. daily, and fish oil capsules. These all help your brain make connections properly. Finally, go volunteer somewhere – like an animal shelter etc. for a few hours a week. It will take your mind off your problems and make you feel better about yourself.
