Have you thought asking your doctor to refer you for counselling or therapy? Cognitive behavioural therapy is generally very effective for depression and anxiety (or panic) attacks. If your anxiety is mild, you can also try a self help book to start with.
Make some major changes in your life. Look at what you are not happy with and work towards changing it. Some medications may help but all have side effects. Xanax, Valium, Klonopin all work great for your anxiety but turn you into a zombie and make you not care about anything. I would also highly recommend therapy. Talking to friends and family is ok but they don’t want to listen to everything for an hour the way a therapist can.
Know that God can help you live a better life if you want Him to help you. You can have a personal relationship with God by saying the prayer below. God is our Creator, all-knowing, all-powerful, eternal, holy, love. God loves us and sent us His Son, Jesus Christ, so we can go to heaven if we know and follow Him. Forever means without end — time on and on without death. Forever is what happens after we die. Either we go to heaven and be with God forever, or we go to hell which is very bad and painful forever. The good people who are saved believers in Jesus Christ go to heaven. The bad people go to hell. We need to know and follow God in this world to get to heaven in the next world. We follow God by loving and obeying Him and loving others for Him. Jesus Christ, God’s Son, is our bridge to God. Jesus died on the cross to cancel our sins. We need to accept Jesus into our life as our Lord and Savior forever to receive God’s blessing and forgiveness plus go to heaven to be with God forever after we die. This is about being a born-again Christian. Faith in God is a gift from God. You can pray for faith in God. Just speak out and ask God for the faith to believe in Him and to follow Him. Some people find faith in God when they realize the beauty in the world is made by God. Evolution can’t explain the world’s natural beauty, for example, the parks in the world, animals, flowers, peacocks, sunsets, butterflies, rainbows, etc. After you have your faith on, you can pray a sinner’s prayer to be a born-again Christian. This prayer is very important and should be said with a sincere heart and faith in God. This is the prayer: "Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and that Jesus Christ is the sacrifice for our sins. I have done the following sins (state these out) and I pray to discontinue these sins. I pray to receive Jesus Christ into my life as my Lord and Savior forever. In Jesus’ name, amen." I’m Lutheran and I like the Baptist churches too. You could check out a Christian church and also see about their weekly Bible study group as a good way to learn about God’s will for your life. You can pray to God about your daily life and have a Christian church pray for you.
A lot of people telling me how their anxiety
makes them feel very cut off or removed from the
world around them. This sensation can be distressing
as people fear that they will never be
able to feel normal again.
Stress or Anxiety and Depression can often feel like a thick fog has surrounded
your mind. Nothing really seems enjoyable as you are
always looking out at the world through this haze of
anxious thoughts and feelings. This fog steals the joy
out of life and can make you feel removed
or cut off from the world.
When someone is very caught up in anxious thoughts
they are top heavy so to speak. The constant mental
activity they are engaged in has caused an imbalance
where all of their focus is on their mental anxieties.
A powerful way to move out of this anxious
mental fog is to switch your focus from your head
to your heart.
By simply making a deliberate shift of attention to your heart
you will find the anxious thoughts dissipate more easily
and the mental fog starts to gradually clear.
What makes your heart happy?
What makes you feel good?
What good things do you currently have in your life?
By getting control of what makes your heart happy and taking
attention away from your general mind, you are on your way to
calming your forth coming panic or anxiety attack.
Out side of seeing your dr and a councillors, you need to maintain the best health you can… know what triggers anxiety attacks.
From experience keep away from stimulants like to much sugar, caffeine/ smokes and energy drinks. etc. Rest well, being over tired causes anxiety attacks.
Walking is good for you, 30 min a day gets the endorphins moving in your body and helps you to feel good, its good for depression too.
Get a project that involves helping others, depression and anxiety get worse when you focus on self, my depression lessened after I had kids, I didn’t have time to be self centred. Depression can be a very self centered problem, but not in a positive way, we think badly of ourselves etc… concentrating on others (not saying to be walked over or burn yourself out) makes you feel good.

When it comes to the various panic attack treatment options, different things will work for different people. Depending on your lifestyle, some treatments might work better than others.
The number one way people treat their panic attacks is through prescription medication. There are many names and many types of anti-anxiety medications and often the same medication that is used to treat depression will treat panic disorders as well. These can be prescribed through your doctor, and can often be quite expensive. Another down side is that there are a lot of negative side effects that you may experience when first starting, or when ceasing this panic attack treatment.
Many people are uncomfortable taking oral medications with side effects attached, so they will opt for a more psychological treatment like Panic Away. This course shows you how you can stop panic attacks before they start with ground breaking techniques that have already worked for hundreds of people.
Natural is always better, which is why using natural methods to cure your panic attacks is ideal. You can do this through meditation, relaxation breathing techniques, and even diet. If you eat a lot of overly processed foods, this could be contributing to your anxiety issues. By eating a healthy diet and drinking plenty of water, you can prevent anxiety attacks from occurring.
By treating your body as a whole, you can prevent panic attacks. Instead of popping a pill every day, you could be treating your whole body and curing the root of the problem.
Although panic attack treatment options vary greatly, there is something that will work for everyone. If something doesn’t work for you, you can always move on to the next treatment option and see if that works for you. This way you can live anxiety free for life.
Meds can definitely help, but they’re not a cure. Cognitive therapy is one of the best ways to get over depression and anxiety. The next best thing would be self help books. With therapy and self help books the focus is on actively changing your thoughts, behaviors and life. Meds are a passive way to deal with depression, they’re often prescribed out of ease or to support therapy treatment.
The question you need to ask yourself is: Do I want to do anything and everything I can to get rid of depression? If your answer is yes, then go for it! No doctor in the world can take your depression away for you, only you can do. And trust me, you really can do it!
