Okay, i may not have kids, but I do suffer from an anxiety disorder.
First of all, know this much:
ANXIETY MEDICATION DEPRESSES YOU.
it does not work at all and excuse my language but it’s a bitch to get off of medication. Esp paxil.
The best way to deal with stress and anxiety is to get out with friends. Have someone baby sit your kids every now and then. Might I suggest going for a jog with a friend, or going to a gym/yoga class?
Execizing helps like you would not believe.
And take my advice- don’t drink coffee when you first get up. And when you drink coffee do not get like..the largest starbucks drink they make.
Honestly, I find that just hanging out with a friend or talking to them (in person) helps me out the best.
Hope this helped!!
I get on here and I blog on myspace
Alcohol helps me.
Lots of it!
People go through much worse everyday and you’re complaining about having kids, which is by the way your own fault. Deal with it!
Honestly, if you can get a full 8 hours of sleep, eat healthy food, drink lots of water, and get some daily exercise, you’ll feel much better overall on a daily basis.
It varies from person to person. For me, I use physical exertion as a release. I go run or hike. The getting out side helps me out too.
whichone are you taking? I am on zoloft and it’s working great for me – try to change your medicine – nothing else worked for me – but try exercising, yoga relaxes pretty much, breating exercises, bubble baths, playing with your kids, and Massages, go to spa etc.

See stress treatments, at ezy build, below, in section 42. A certain level of stress is unavoidable, in modern society, so it is a good idea to develop effective coping methods. Light to moderate daily exercise helps fight stress. For some people, it helps to visualise a quiet, relaxing scene (imagine, as vividly as you can, that you are on a tropical beach, reclining comfortably; you luxuriate, as the the sun warms you, and a gentle breeze caresses your skin lightly, inhaling the tangy, sea scented, salt laden spray from the sparkling, translucent, aqua waves, crashing on the white, coral beach sand, and feeling the hot sand slip through your fingers in one hand, sipping your favorite drink with the other; all the while, the seagulls call, swoop and cavort playfully overhead in a cloudless, azure sky: you feel just like one of them, free to soar and cartwheel, or just glide in the moist, heavy air, and that this moment will last forever … ).

Take 4 Omega 3 fish oil supplements, daily: (certified free of mercury) it is best if consumed with an antioxidant, such as an orange, or grapefruit, or their FRESHLY SQUEEZED juice. If vitamin E is added, it should be certified as being 100% from natural sources, or it may be synthetic: avoid it. The supplement DHEA is thought to counter the stress hormone, Cortisol. Ginseng & Lady’s Slipper are recommended herbal remedies: see section 55, at ezy build, below. Practise daily, one of the relaxation techniques on pages 2, 11, 2c, or 2i; whichever works best for you, but the mindfulness breathing for 15 – 20 mns is ideal, although the progressive muscle relaxation can be learned quickly, and takes only several minutes, if pressed for time. Repeat: "I feel calm" and/or "I can handle this." Employ the EFT version for use in public, for which you can reasonably claim that you have a headache, as you massage/tap your temples, but it may be advisable to restrict yourself to subvocalising (saying it to yourself, in your mind, not aloud). Section 53, and pages 2, 2.q and 2.o refer. "Even though I sometimes suffer from stress, I deeply and completely accept myself". A variant of EMDR: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy, which has been used successfully for those people suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, insomnia, and anxiety, is shown in section 42, on page i, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris I have found that the 2 – 3 minutes spent using the EMDR markedly reduces distractions to the relaxation process, and is well worthwhile. You can also multitask, using the gazing technique, as you walk/jog or exercise, by focusing on a distant object, or just focus awareness on how each step feels, noting any thoughts which flash across your mind, without pursuing any particular train of thought, just gently redirect your focus to the task at hand.
For you, or others: A massage (at least neck and shoulders) with jasmine, lavender, juniper, and/or bergamot, or German chamomile essential oils added to the massage oil, and to a warm bath, preferably beforehand, to help make any tension knots and muscles more pliant (they may only want, say, a sandalwood & juniper, or bergamot mix:; check first). I am aware of advice that strong heat, applied to essential oils can damage them, and so I would not use a diffuser. Also consider anise, basil, bay, eucalyptus, peppermint, rose, or thyme. Place some pieces of rock salt in a small vial, then add a few drops of the oil of your choice (the rock salt absorbs the oil and is less risky to carry around than a bottle of oil).
Schedule your activities, try not to have plenty idle time. Do some reading and some physical activity maybe walking or jogging or games.
non drug remedy for stress is always better as it does not have side effect.
Usually when I’m stressed I listen to soothing music. Songs that relate to the anxiety or stress I’m feeling or I listen to upbeat and fast songs and sing along. Music is medicine for the soul. Dancing to music is also another way to cope.A few other things that usually calm my nerves: A warm candle lit bath, keeping a journal, walking and going out with my best friend one night a wk ( I also have childern) getting time to myself atleast one night a wk has helped my stress and anxiety tremendously.
I know you do not want to but try a different med. I have been on 8 different meds in the past year alone and have finally found one to help. so talk to your Dr and tell him everything and even though you don’t want to you need to find a med that works for you.
Are your children hyper? If you are constantly having to yell and lecture, that can take a lot out of a person. If they are hyper, they may have ADHD. For this you could get them meds. My younger brother was the most disruptive kid in his school until he was diagnosed. His psychiatrist gave him medication and now he is perfectly behaved. Otherwise, if your kids are well behaved, that’s a sign that you need more "me time". If you can find them a good babysitter, you should go out and chill with some friends or excercise a few times a week. Running is an incredible way to de-stress! Also, you should do a fun activity with your kids. They will love it and you will feel satisfyed having played with them in a stress-free environment. Good luck!
I have a set of Baoding balls, or Chinese meditation balls, that I spin in my hand to help me center my thoughts. Yes, whenever I get stressed, I play with my balls

The body is designed to heal itself-given it has the proper care-nutrition, herbal supplements, spiritual and emotional well-being.
The first step in creating a healthy Mind, Body and Spirit is making a philosophical shift-creating a new paradigm regarding your relationship with your Mind, Body and Spirit. For some this shift will be something they have read about, thought about, but didn’t know how to begin or follow through. For others this shift might be analogous to jumping off the Empire State Building. Let me assure you no one has ever died as a result of making this shift-the consistent results are better more vibrant health. No matter your age or ‘unhealthy’ condition making this shift will create better health. The most effective and powerful way to better health is to completely shift everything at once; Mind-Set, Emotions, Nutrition, Exercise, Spirituality, However, I appreciate the fear of the unknown holds the majority of people back from such a ‘radical’ change. Most people begin making changes gradually. Needless-to-say, making changes gradually hampers the immediate results you want to see. If you make changes gradually you may not see results for several months. If you made changes on all levels simultaneously you will see results within a week or sometimes even hours.
The second step is a big leap of faith-giving up the idea that Western Medicine is the end-all-be-all to create and maintain a healthy body. The United States ranks 16th or more in the world on effectively treating health related issues. If Western Medicine was as effective as the commercials on TV purports it to be, one would think the United States would rank number one in treating all health issues. Your guidance on health issues need to be shifted to a Naturopath or Iridologist. There is a plethora of information on the internet on the practice of Naturopathy and Iridology. Do the research.
The third step is another leap of faith-literally and figuratively-shifting your belief on spirituality. In Alternative Healthcare verses Western Medicine, I said, "Every Thing in the universe is Energy and Consciousness. How anyone thinks or feels about that ‘Fact’ cannot change it. The purpose of ‘All’ religions is the recognition that humans have a part of themselves that is not physical and there is a need to explore and experience this aspect of oneself. Part of the intent is to discover one’s purpose and to live in the best way possible; part of that goal also includes the attainment of ‘Truth and Spiritual Wellness.’" Religions fail to attain ‘Truth and Spiritual Wellness.’ Proof that religion has failed in this regard manifests through the wars we continue to create; and the emotional dysfunctions people continue to struggle with. Peace of mind is essential to create a healthy body and also to create a healthy world. Peace of mind can be attained through Yoga, exercise, emotional healing and connecting to ones inner-self. Gurus, Avatars, Shamans, Spiritual Leaders can guide you into your inner-self. Spirituality is based on the belief that Every Thing in the universe is Energy and Consciousness.
Where is your Consciousness? It is within you. Therefore, going within is the only way to create Peace of Mind. Also, going within, creates a connection with an ‘Essence’ greater than yourself. In the world of spirituality you are free to call this ‘Essence’ whatever feels right to you. Attaining ‘Peace of Mind’ is an inside job. Find a Gurus, Avatar, Shaman, or Spiritual Leader to guide your Spiritual growth-outside the only religion you have ever known.
The Fourth Step is making a mind-set-a.k.a. values and beliefs-shift. Remember we are including the Mind, Body and Spirit in the quest to create health as they are not separate. Although, you have used your conscious mind to make the previous shifts, there are other mind shifts. You need to access all your values and beliefs. Take inventory….What do I believe? The most important question is: "What do I want to believe?" If you aren’t deciding what you want to believe someone else is.
A mind-set shift is created through listening to the language you use-the tape you run in your head. Your life is created by your thoughts; everything you think and say drives you toward that reality. For example, if you say, I can’t, ____. That is what you will create. If you say, I am working on learning to___. Or I can. That is what you will create.
