How to cope with Depression, Anxiety and Panic Attacks?

I have been on Lexapro fro Depression and am still having alot of axniety and panic attacks. My husband does not understand me and I am afraid he might leave me and take out kids. I have no one to talk to about this and am confused. I want it to stop before it ruins my like. Can anyone give me some advise or maybe I need to change my medicine. Thank You

Wellbutrin is supposed to be good for depression. I am on Lexapro for anxiety, and it works well. I strongly suggest you talk with your doctor, and try a chance of meds.
i also have your illnesses and i take paxil. i have been in therapy for a year and also have been on paxil for the same time frame. at first when i started paxil,i got horrible panic attacks and suicidal thoughts,but that went away after a couple days. your body has to adjust to the medicine,usually 6 to 8 weeks. i like paxil and it has really reduced panic and anxiety and even my depression. sometimes it takes a few tries and dosages with medication to get the correct one for you. i know a couple people that have been switched dosages and medicines a couple times before finding the right one. i would talk to your doctor and tell him/her all your symptoms and how you feel.
my husband and family don’t understand my illness and noone can unless they have it,so your husband won’t. you just need to talk to him and tell him you have an illness that you can’t control,and need medicine and all you need from him is his love and support. that is all my husband gives me and it is what i need.
First, understand you are not alone. There are 100’s of thousands of us out here just like you. There is actually, a brotherhood and sisterhood of anxiety and panic attack sufferers. Everything you are experiencing we have all felt at one time or another. In other words, anxiety disorder with frequent panic attacks is a common affliction.
Second, unless your husband has told you he is leaving, he will not. Even if he has threatened to leave, he won’t. It is just his way, although an improper way, to try to shock your anxiety away.
Thirdly, anxiety disorder with panic attacks is an ailment that, even with medication, takes time to heal. While you are waiting for recovery, stop trying to fight your illness. Don’t fight or run away from anything. Let panic run its course.
You are going to have a few more panic attacks before you totally recover. The harder you fight them the more they will come. The less you struggle with them, the less trouble they will be.
Accept the fact you don’t feel well right now, but you will get better. I have! I have gone through a terrible struggle with panic attacks but I no longer have them. During recovery, I practiced the same advice I have just given you.

Makes me look professional. lol. Sorry bout that as well. First things first,We are going to dump the meds out. I think these meds are the cause for your anxiety and panic attacks. When can you say that all this started? Do you talk to your husband about this? Please forgive me for saying this,But most husbands are @-holes. lol. Unless you are discussing something in the nude,They aren’t going to listen. Also,Sometimes husbands can’t understand why women get sick. It’s like they don’t have a manual. Trust me,Sometimes we need a manual. Of course,We can be just as bad. What do you think about? What brings this on? Once we find out the cause,We can find a cure. You don’t need any medicine. You don’t need any doctor either. They overprice their patients like we are just bleeding green,You know? What you need is for someone to give you some attention. Someone to sit down and listen to you. You need some TLC. Tender-Loving-Care. Ask your husband to help you. Whether it’d be helping you with chores,Or helping you tend to your kids. I can’t understand why your husband won’t help. Perhaps he doesn’t know how to. Right back to the "manual" bit again. lol. Please don’t worry about this. If you need someone to tell your troubles to. I have two ears to listen and a pair of sturdy shoulders to lean on. I’ll do what I need to,To help you out. And all I ask for you to do is to make this problem be known to your husband. Set him down and explain what you are going through. If he asks what he can do,Tell him he can be there for you. You need him to help you through this. You can only do so much. I can only do so much. omg! i have this same problem with my boyfriend and we live together now. I don’t take pills anymore because I hated them they made me feel crappy if i missed a day and I didn’t want to rely on a pill. My boyfriend says I was faking the panic attacks and acting immature. I know messed up. You need to talk to someone(go back where you got the pills)…it was ruining my life and I still need to talk to someone…You have kids so this is very important and maybe take your husband with you so you can have someone explain your disorder to him and help both of you. He can’t stand by you forever if you choose not to seek help. This is difficult and you can’t do it on your own. Best wishes.
Recover from depression one step at a time
Recovering from a depressive episode or managing depression long-term takes energy and planning. You may think, how am I going to find energy or motivation when I feel so poorly?
Depression can strip you of your self-esteem, self-confidence and motivation. Approach this in the same way you would approach a friend, loved one or child. You would approach helping that person in a reasonable, caring manner. Do the same for yourself. The key is to begin with small steps.
Say you want to begin exercising, attending to bills or mail, increasing your socialization or housework. Would you tackle all of these simultaneously? Of course you wouldn’t. Pick one that is a priority to you. You then will need to set up a reasonable plan as to how to proceed with accomplishing your goal.
Let’s go with exercise first. Overall, your goal may to improve your health. Your goal may be to walk a mile but how would you do this? You would train by walking one step at a time. The idea is to be your own cheerleader, be kind to yourself. You deserve to feel good and to be happy. Set up reasonable goals and then honestly rate them using the 1-10 scale. It is OK if you need to change your goal. Find a support person to share your goal with. Studies show that this will make it more likely that you will follow through. Once you have accomplished your first goal, you will find your self-esteem and confidence are boosted. Don’t stop now, set up your next goal. Set your self up for success! You can do it!
