No-it would probably do the opposite and actually increase your anxiety-you should close your eyes and take deep slow breaths so that you don’t hyperventilate-you should go ahead and see someone. Panic attacks are awful but there is help. I am on Zoloft 100 mg every day and I have not had a panic attack in the 2 years I have been on them. Good luck!
no you have to take celexa on a daily basis
Your best bet is to just do your best to relax!! I have panic attack disorder it is very hard to live from day to day so I feel you on not leaving the house.
If at all possible… you should find someone else to take you to the barber. That way you aren’t the one driving and once you get there you have someone else there to sit next to you that can talk to you and keep your mind off as much as possible on getting your hair cut.
I hope this helps and if you ever need to talk about your panic attacks you can always email me.
Tell the barber/stylist he’ll keep you calm.
i didnt leve my house for about a year and a half. now im doing better. started workind nad am getting back on track. there will be setbacks but they will last onlya few minutes. just dont be controled by them and dont live in fear
Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc.
Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI - Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level.
But there are natural ways to do it without medication. There’s this strange herb called "St John’s Wort" - it is said to be more effective than Prozac. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John’s Wort works like prozac. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc.
The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced… you have that "learned behavior" in your mind. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior - Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction… There are several other techniques to help cope them!
Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to….

You really need more help in the long term than to just pop a pill. Relaxing and recognizing what is going on is critical. Check out a blog post I just wrote — I think it will help:
