It really depends on what level your social anxiety is , the more developed it is the more difficult it will get to get past it. But it isn´t something incurable , so if u put all ur effort in it and find a good psychologist who´ll guide it , then u´ll be fine.Good luck
You should ask your uncle about how his therapy helped and ask him to help you get out of the same cause.
In this situation you are lucky that your unce aslo had it, because now you can speak to him about it and not feel so alone. I would advise you to ask him what worked for him and then put that into practice yourself. You cannot put a time minimum/limit on how long it will take for you to overcome this, because it is different for everyone. Good luck.

to be honest, it depend on the level how comfortable you are.
The best ways to treat anxiety is to be prepared for it. Modifying behavior to effectively cope with stress which causes anxiety is another way of overcoming your fears. Have a calming phrase or word in place and repeat it over and over while taking slow, deep breaths until your calm. When you notice symptoms do not hesitate, treat it immediately.
Most or at least many people who have generalized anxiety disorder and leave it untreated eventually develop other serious conditions such as agoraphobia.
People with severe anxiety or panic attack symptoms will work their own fears of having another attack up to such a degree that they fear having one in public. In turn they will often become a recluse. From worry that if they go out they will experience a potential attack and will be without a quick way to exit and avoid the situation altogether by staying home.
Find others like you who have similar symptoms and have had some success in these matters. Get some support from those who have been successful. Do not be afraid to ask. Those who have had problems similar to yours and have overcome them are almost always happy to help others to do the same. In most cases they are actually eager to help as in this way it helps them too.
