How can I get a job despite my social anxiety?

I have social anxiety and feel that I’ve been passed over for many jobs because of my ASSUMED lack of self confidence. During interviews it’s difficult for me to maintain eye contact, focused, remain still (I fidget). What is my best bet for doing well during interviews?

Its really hard to get through the interview but just try to smile alot and keep staringg at the interviewer. Try to pay attention to his words instead of ur thoughts wondering and making u feel insecure about the whole thing…its hard but u just gota get throught it:)
BTW I have social anxiety and me having my job has actually helped it soooo much so im glad to hear that you’re trying to work
Goodluck hun
Wrong question entirely.
Eye contact and major blasting confidence is the START. Make THEM "fidget."
And then get the job.
knowing that you could get a job without the anxiety all u have to do is realize that and ur confidence should go up.
so my best answer would be once u get in the interview room or wherever it will happen just take a quick look around, and take a deep breath and then relax u can tell on there face what they think. just look confident for like the first 5 mins then judge there face. fs they think your doing good then there face will show it and then it will be easy from there because they think ur doing good
Thinking differently about the problem can help a lot.
Remember that someone with social phobia is very often an expert at reading body language, visual clues, facial expressions etc, so you’ve actually got an advantage over those people who aren’t lucky enough to have those skills.
Take this into the interview room, and use the tools you’ve got.
You can also change the way you think about the interview… rather than seeing it as an ordeal that you have to go through to try to get the job, do some research, prepare yourself as much as you can, and then see it as an opportunity for you SHOW them all that you know, and all that you can do!
It’s only thinking about things in a different way, but you’ll be surprised how quickly you can get really good at it! :O)
And as for the eye contact, the oldest trick in the book is to look at the bridge of their nose, rather than looking straight into their eyes… they won’t know!
