omg.my husband bought me one for winter months and they are really really good.very cheerful light.bout £100 but worth it.i read a book infront of mine.to myself though not the light.lol
I’ve known a lot of people who use it in combination with other treatments as well as a stand alone. Most seem to like it, but you must have the special type of lights for it to be effective.
The only drawback I hear is the amount of time needed to be under the light. Easily remedied, though - install in an area where you normally hang out to watch T.V., work on the computer, read, etc.
On those days when the sun doesn’t come out, it helps me feel sane. I’m very affected by SAD, and we’re just coming out of a long winter.
Light therapy makes sense to me, since I don’t stay outside very much (it’s too hot in TX, esp with my health problems). I do sit by a huge patio window, and I get quite a bit of light that way.
Will it cure my depression? Never. Does it help? Yes. After all, two natural anti-deprs are sunshine and exercise. I’m working on both.

I just got one (on loan from Dr) and used it for the first time today. I found it extremely disorienting, and a little bit painful. I do have red hair/light eyes, so maybe that’s why. It made me have a little headache, and get dizzy. I could only stand 10 of the 45 min my Dr said to try, but my mood is better. We’ll see what happens.
