Massage and not drinking caffine, relaxation. That’s what get rid of my stress to a level where I don’t have an attack. Go buy a nice album of lounge music from iTunes. Get a second opinion and if more than one doctor suggests it, it is probably what you need.
Go to a quiet place in your house and take deep, slow breaths. Think of something positive and reassuring in your life. After that, try to read something positive or watch something positive on t.v.. Talking to someone you trust also helps.
not really, where ever I am I have to get out of there as fast as I can & I am on anti depressants, when they were real bad I took lorasapam, that did help, but can become addictive
Anti-depressants won’t solve your problem. They’ll just numb you out so that you won’t get pushed over the edge as easily. Sometimes they can help though to help quiet your anxiety while you look at some other psychological causes of your anxiety.
The problem comes from your brain. When you are under a lot of stress for a long time, your brain starts to think that this is normal and natural and it sets this as it’s new benchmark for "normal." This happened to me after I had a panic attack while working on my thesis in university. The stress just got to me.
In order to turn down the volume of your anxiety and reset your brain to a normal level, you need to take some time to relax and destress. Try meditation or yoga or something. Even just going on a vacation can help if you’re spending too much time at work. Spend some time focusing on you.
I have always had bad anxiety due to being abused as a child. My doctor had me on anti-depressants which I hated, so I just said no. I was on vistral (which I quit because they are very bad for you i found out) and anyways just kept trying to drug me up so I would be calm. But I do not ike feeling drugged, and i do take sleeping meds to sleep i absolutly need them some nights, however for panic attacks I use methods I learned in counseling. when you feel one coming on or are having one
1. Breath into your nose slowly for 5 sec hold it for 2 sec let out of your mouth for 5sec. Repeat this 3 times (its used for heart patients to reset their breathing naturally)
2. If I can get to fresh air around the open i do like if im in a car I open the car window at home ill step on the porch.
3. If I can be around another person I will get in the same room. Just another persons being there makes me not feel alone if something goes wrong (which it wont but you dont feel like that) they are there
4. You have to remind yourself you are just the same as most other people, you are okay. Know that this is no big deal.
5. Once your physical symptoms begin to calm down do something to take your mind off it, busy work, something you like.
-Dont let yourself think bad things, you need to seperate that scary place and reality know they are different.
I really hope something helped. I am so empathetic, bless your heart I know how anxiety can take over your life. There is hope and you can control it without meds I promise you this.
