I have been really down in the dumps for the last month. I live in an extremely cold and wet city and I am starting to think its S.A.D.. Will going to a tanning bed help? Some web sites say no some say yes. I think some might be saying no because of the risks associated with tanning. What do you think?

I think I would give it a try. It’s much cheaper than light therapy.
I would try it once and then start drinking a lot of milk and taking vitamin D. Talk to a pharmacist before taking the vitamin D because it need to be taking with something else to absorb in your body. Sorry can’t remember what it is at the moment.
After having survived a winter in Alaska in a log cabin, I can relate to your question. Good for you for questioning whether you may be suffering from S.A.D. About tanning beds, I strongly urge you to stay away from them. Instead, purchase something like this: http://www.fullspectrumsolutions.com/light_therapy_13_ct.htm?gclid=COb3iMrVw58CFQlZbAodGFs30Q
Friends have used a similar light with great results. Also, there are great light bulbs you can purchase that have a balanced spectrum of light and infuse your home with a healthy bit of indoor sunshine. All of this is called light therapy. Do a little research, read customer reviews, and I’m sure you’ll find an affordable light that won’t cost more than a few visits to the tanning salon!
No. They dpn’t provide vitamin D which is what is needed. I take it all winter.
