Does anyone have any good natural remedies for anxiety attacks?

I have taken prescriptions for anxiety before, and hated the side effects of going off of them. I currently have dizzy spells, lightheadedness, the typical symptoms. Is it possible I could be depressed? Any advice would be great. Thanks

I tried kava kava before, and it worked for me. Some have reservations about it, though.
I suffer from anxiety attacks and what I have found works best is to just breathe. When you start to get nervous just take deep breaths and try to think about why you are feeling nervous. Most of the time you’ll realize that there’s no need to be freaking out.
I know that Hawthorne is known for its calming effects and is used by many with hypertension to regulate their blood pressure. You may also want to try Valerian (not to be confused with Valium). Valerian is known for its calming properties. It smells icky but it’s taken in capsule form so you can’t taste it. Any good alternative health store you go to can help you out with more suggestions. I’d just go to your local one and ask the clerk and they can recommend different herbs, etc. You may also want to look into homeopathy if you believe it works.
Depression is definitely a root to some anxieties, it was mine. I found that taking 1/2 a Xanax (prescribed 2 per day- Ha I would have been mush) when I started to feel anxious helped. Also, there is the Midwest Center for Stress and Anxiety. My husband bought me their stuff and it was really helpful!!
Good luck!
Rescue remedy is supposed to be marvellous.
I know what you mean about the after affects of anti-anxiety medication. Nothing in the world would induce me to ever take them again. Deep breathing works wonders too – take a deep breath, count to 10 with breath held and then to 10 while releasing your breath very slowly.
Physical exercise or hard physical work is a also good way of releasing tension
