The first thing I will say is that taking medication is the one thing I regret the most when I suffered from panic attacks. I was able to resolve and completely cure them long after stopping my meds, so they clearly did nothing, except make me very spaced out. So, learn to deal with this issue without medication if you can(see panicattacks.simplestcures.com). I’m not being ignorant, just sharing my previous experience with panic and anxiety – the meds did more harm than good, despite ‘stopping’ any panic attacks.
Also, it is unlikely that a panic disorder will cause weight gain, but it does produce high levels of cortisol and that can cause heart problems that can lead to obesity. However, make sure that you are not blaming your obesity on the panic disorder instead of your(possibly?) unhealthy lifestyle.
That’s it from me, hope this helps!

Well yeah. It’s not the disorder itself. It’s more like a compulsion. Usually those people are named "compulsive over-eaters" They eat in order to get rid of the anxiety/depression… I am one… I was more before my medication for an anxiety disorder named OCD.
My answer was short but I hope I helped
when you have a panic disorder and or depression one tends to eat and eat without really knowing it…food as a crutch. watch what your eatting you should be okay. the medication that your taking could be causing weight gain also.
i read a quote somewhere that said something like it starts eating disorders, yeah i think this is normal as i just hate eating now and have gone the opposite (i have the same thing)
I’ve suffered from both panic attacks and depression, but I haven’t noticed any change in my weight. It’s not unheard of though, some people gain or loose a lot of weight. I don’t know why though. :/
If you’re using food as a coping mechanism I’d strongly recommend you find a healthier one such as swimming, cycling or chatting to people close to you.
Hope this helps
