Anxiety Attacks?

I have a friend who has anxiety or panic attacks.He gets them while he is driving. What causes them? Ive never seen him have one, he usually calls me while he is driving he says it calms him down. Do they get worse? Are they the same as a panic attack?

i feel for your friend, i use to get them a while ago on a regular basis and took meds for it. i’ve been getting them on and off for the past few days due to a really stressful situation i’m going through. i had to go to the doctor for meds. they really suck! god bless you for helping out your friend in his time of need.
anxiety is when your like anxious or nervous & panic attack..i have one when i got fired from a job one time..lol i was so overwehlmed and mad all at the same time & i called my mom to calm me down, i had thrown up from breathing so hard and crying.. ive had two of those before..so yeah i get why he calls you.. its soothes the mind to hear somone talk to you, thats in many cases
Panic attacks are often triggered by various stressors, it depends upon the person really. Technically, all of us are prone to having panic attacks, people just have different levels of response to it.
If you’re friends tends to react more negatively to stressors, I suggest he take some anti-depressants for it. Better yet, learn meditation so he could calm down on his own. Meditating can help us have more control of our emotions. Link below us a good online meditation how-to.
Best course of action would still be, to seek professional help rather than listen to what us Yahoo Answers laymen has to say.
