I don’t know if this will affect my children at all or not but my little brother has a form of autism called Asburgers Syndrome. He is the only one in my family who has it and my fiance doesn’t have anyone in his family with autism that we know of. I just want to know what the chances are that our children will have autism (specifically asburgers) so that my fiance and I can be prepared for it ahead-of-time. Thanks for your help=)

ON AVERAGE, how many episodes would a bipolar experience within one year?
Also, if one had many (around 10+) extreme mood shifts in a month, would you say it’s more likely they are suffering from Borderline Personality Disorder and not Bipolar disorder?
Just merely curious. 10 points available

I’ve been on anxiety medication for a few months now and my doctor is insisting I try to get off of it at least until I go back to school in the fall. She wants to see how I do without it. I still have panic attacks even with my medication and I’m without counseling at the moment. I’m pretty concerned about what getting off of it will do to me. Has anyone experienced this personally or does anyone know of any side effects that occur when a person gets off of this medication?

I suffer from social anxiety disorders and I am tired of living with it so I am looking at the options of having behavioural cognitive therapy.
The idea of sitting with someone and discussing my fears is a bit scary, so has anyone done this and can tell me about their experience. What do you do? How long for? What worked? What did not work?
Also, what types of costs should I be expecting?
Thankful for answers.
feelmywrath – well that answer did make me laugh as it is that silly.

For some reason, my anxiety levels have been pretty bad lately. I have recently given up my love of running because my anxiety prevents me from doing it. I have no insurance or enough money to get a therapist or get anti-anxiety medications. I need to find a solution that will work quickly and effectively when my anxiety strikes so I can get over it and get back to my life. I’m open to any ideas you may have.

I have panic/anxiety attacks every once in a while. Now, I only start feeling anxious right before the attack, so I don’t think I have GAD, but what is it? What can I do to stop it, without taking any medication? They happen at least once a week it seems

Lately I have been having tons of panic attacks and I was wondering what I can do during them so I can breathe better, because sometimes I can’t breathe barely at all during them. Is there a medicine I could use? Thanks!

My family always laughs if i get embarrassed or nervous. I have been diagnosed with Social Anxiety Disorder by a therapist and they still don’t believe in it. Inside, it’s killing me. I have no support and people just take it as a joke? Why is that?

I am really nervous for this new school year coming up because I am shy. I have some friends, but when ever I meet someone new I really don’t know what to say to them or talk to them about. It’s really hard for me to make friends cause I am shy! Plus I have been the new kid a lot cause my family has moved a lot, but even though I am not the new kid this year I am still nervous and I want to become more confident. What should I do? And are there any tips for overcoming shyness?

So I have seasonal affective disorder, which means I feel depressed, tired, and have lack of energy during winter.
I’m wondering, are there any natural treatments that could help me cope with the "winter blues", without having to go to a therapist, or any of those professional people?
thank you.
